I've had some time to contemplate since the "Face of War" dream.
It seems very important to me to explore the actions, attitudes and behaviors that allow us to resolve conflict, and manifest peace; or more directly, that create peace in and of themselves.
I'm thinking of things people can actually do (like dreaming of peace, or making a peace
train). These are not anti-war things I'm talking about, and I'm certainly not thinking of political actions.
I'm interested in focusing on the root . causes of peace, the seeds of peace, and even the elusive peace bomb.
Who would like to join me in making a list? Stephen
One 8th grade girl drew a picture of the earth, with
various continents shown, with different colors/types of faces on the
continents. There was a mask covering part of the earth, with a hand
on the mask beginning to hold it away from the earth. I asked her to
tell me all about her piece. She said, "Well, I believe the
governments mask what the people want. If we can lay down the masks
of these governments, then the people's voices will be heard and it will
be the voice of peace." Rosemary Watts
For me the answer is more and more about embracing and healing my inner needs for
safety, and security. Changing my perception of threat, and being mindful of how my fear creates the cycle of anger/hate/war. Stephen
Hello all -and peace initiative in
a pragmatic way,
Why not fix a planet law which
sends a trouble making dictator to exile for 7 years. Then, if the people really love
that actual dictator, just let them have him/her back after 7 years.
Wonder what is driving a dictator? Is fun to kill own people by terror weapons?
Is it fun to send secret agents listen or kill your life? Is it fun build palaces bigger than White House
to only party and relatives when
small children dies without medicine?
Is if fun play world politics when own country cries help? Is it fun to cut Internet so people can't surf?
Just a conflict source based pragmatic thought from Juhani
I like to ask people things like favorite colors - for themselves, but especially for anybody ill, or perhaps anybody close
to them who may have died. Then they can know that people a long way away care enough to make an effort to find, for instance a candle in
somebody else's favorite color to light for hope, peace, and remembrance of the bright moment regular candles for peace
* list people's favorite images of peace/ of special meaning to them and have regular mutual meditations and perhaps attempt mutual
dreaming around those.
* make 'splat art' from things thrown at paper rather than injuring
people in anger
* be interested in the world using every sense. Victoria
Please look into your own past experience with war to recognize the vast devastation that war creates for all warring parties, in terms of loss of precious human lives, destruction of the natural
environment, and destruction of diplomatic relationships and peace between nations in the world. Thich Nath Hanh
Please use your powers of reflection and understanding of the past and present situations in order to prevent such destruction and devastation to the peoples of the United States and for the protection and safety of people all over the world.
Maybe the answer is in our children. Lets teach our children that evil can be eliminated with kindness an awareness. Walter
Children of the world, please tell this stupid society to stop its evil ways. Be kind. Smile at those that have nothing and be a friend to everyone. Help someone you don't know. Walter
Lets start a global organization where children participate against evil. It doesn't seem that adults can control evil. Why not give children a
peaceful chance for a better future. They seem to have solid answers. Walter
Have you listen to a child lately? Could this be a motto? Walter
Demonstrating against a democratic leader
who let folk talk is not enough for me.
My empathy goes to the smallest and weakest. Juhani

PEACE

Wage
peace with your breath.
Breathe in firemen and rubble,
breathe out whole buildings
and flocks of red wing blackbirds.
Breathe in terrorists and breathe out
sleeping
children and
freshly mown fields.
Breathe in confusion and breathe out maple
trees.
Breathe in the fallen and breathe out
lifelong
friendships intact.
Wage peace with your listening: hearing
sirens, pray
loud.
Remember your tools: flower seeds, clothes
pins, clean
rivers.
Make soup.
Play music, learn the word for thank you
n three
languages.
Learn to knit, and make a hat.
Think of chaos as dancing raspberries,
imagine grief as the outbreath of beauty
or the gesture of
fish.
Swim for the other side.
Wage peace.
Never has the world seemed so fresh and
precious.
Have a cup of tea and rejoice.
Act as if armistice has already arrived.
Don't wait another minute.
My view is this:
*The loudly crow says:
Remember small people in the Iraqi Desert/towns.
*3 Seagulls say:
Remember, small people in the North Korean fields.
*2 Swans say:
Remember small people in the India/Pakistan border
area.
Last but not least, The *Remember* Sentence:
One day you will be free and create your own destiny!
Free, without those dictators who think you are not worth
for lowest international freedom standards! I think
different! You are worth!
