on Kay/Olivia's Dream
Strange dream Olivia:
My first thought on reading the dream was: I wonder if the strange man is
Jeremy (or your dream version of him!!!)? Isn't he tall and lean and a Peace
Master - hardly someone who would desire to teach you how to use weapons.
My second thought: your dream seems to come out of your points (or to lead
into) you were making about how, for example, African countries were destroyed
for the sake of metals necessary for mobile phones!! Something about the
grouping makes me link it in like that.
AND your going through an obstacle course to prove yourself?? We do tend to do
this!!!!!
Perhaps dreams which speak clearly what the situation is ARE PEACE FORMS
automatically.
Love
Kathy
And interesting comments, Kathy! :)
Hmm, you mean that by engaging, with a possibly real group of people that
don't relate to one's usual self, and reacting in one's usual manner to a
situation, one might on some level help to change it? So that by raising the
issue of these people's ability, or lack thereof, to defend themselves (use
the weapons, if necessary) I could have nudged them towards self-empowerment?
I know I had another dream, sometime before Christmas, that I think I posted
here, where I expressed my outrage at some young men (this had Muslim country
feel, the dream, Iraq, perhaps, desertlike...) tormenting a cat, and that the
commander of the party, while reluctant to dress them down in front of others
(and a Western woman, not least, although I had everything but my face
covered), nevertheless felt great unease about it.
I have had some resentment that the Muslim communities worldwide (and not
least in the UK) appear to have done little beyond verbally condemning terror
attacks. Now, in the UK, the tone has begun to change, from one of the Muslim
communities tolerating extremists and their views, to a public claiming back
of Islam, and a call from Muslim leaders for Muslims to cooperate with the
police investigation, and come forward with any knowledge they may have.
I also read today extracts from the first interview that the Met's Assistant
Commissioner has given since the bombings, a Tarfiq Quffar (sp ?), the highest
ranking Muslim in the UK police force - which made me realise why they had the
DEPUTY Assistant Commissioner, Something Paddick, do all the talking before.
Obstacle course - I had something similar in another dream earlier in the
week, where I had to go, or run, upstairs via something like a fire escape,
which felt extremely difficult and dizzying, and almost easier to do with
closed eyes. I have wondered about Jean's DaFuMu image dream, with the wall,
in the past week and perhaps the 'obstacle courses' relate to that. Gina, too,
dreamt of a wall, a fairly low one that even so the birds would not fly over.
The unwilling Master of Arms - although I haven't yet spoken with or met
Jeremy, I don't think the man from my dream represents anybody I actually
know, or know of. Having reminded myself of the dream with the uneasy
commander, it seems these two share something, a responsibility that they feel
reluctant to face up to, perhaps?
And yes, I think the African feel to the dream has its obvious links.
Kay
Dreams are wonderful aren't they!!! I LOVE the
image that it is easier to run an obstacle course with eyes closed!
AND yet you have linked that dream in with ones
where you feel that being yourself changes how others act.
There seems, at one level, a contradiction (go
through difficulties with eyes closed AND being quite aware of yourself and
others) - how to reconcile these?? (if you feel these two things are working
together in your dreams).

Jean's Dream comments continued
Dear Jean -
Very well expressed! Since you mentioned Kathy's bouncing ball dream, here is
mine from this morning, and I think it is relevant:
Title: THREE ON THREE
Text: My group is trying to make peace with a group of Melanesians with
whom we've been in conflict in the past. I go to meet with them, along
with our leader and Adam (my youngest son). We meet in a large
gymnasium with polished brown wooden floors. Our leader carries a
symbol of peace, a white ball about a foot in diameter. The Melanesians
also send 3 tall men, one of whom, a distinguished-looking fellow with a
short black beard and mustache, is obviously the leader. Our leader
presents him with the white ball, which glows brightly when it is passed
from one to the other. The Melanesian leader doesn't really understand
our customs and doesn't know what to do with it, so he passes it on to
one of his followers -- again, it glows when it changes hands. The
follower gives it to the other follower, who gives it to me. I hand it
off to Adam, who shoots it through a basketball hoop at one end of the
gym. This quickly leads to a lively game of basketball between the 2
groups. The Melanesians don't know the game, but they catch on
quickly. At one point I catch a ball which our leader tried to sink in
the basket but which bounces off the backboard, and I show them how to
do a rebound. They are strong competitors, and I wonder what it would
be like to play a full 5-on-5 game with them. EOD
Comments: The night before I'd watched the first installment of "Guns,
Germs, and Steel" on PBS, which features Jared Diamond interacting with
highland Papua New Guineans, one of whom was the leader in the dream.
Diamond is exploring the reasons why there is so much social inequality
in the world, why (as a Melanesian once asked him) White folks have so
much "cargo" and Melanesians have so little. His answer -- that it is
contingent upon the kinds of domesticable plants and animals in an area
-- seems rather facile to me. In the dream, the two groups approach one
another on equal terms. Yes, maybe we know basketball and they don't,
but they catch on quickly. This is one of the points Diamond is trying
to make, that the innate intellectual abilities of the Papuans is no
different from ours, it's just that they are geographically
disadvantaged. My basketball abilities in waking life are not like
this, nor is my interest in the game, but I have heard someone try to
describe the spiritual significance of basketball; the ball is the soul,
the basket the spirit, etc., etc. I thought that was pretty cheesy when
I heard it, but the ball in the dream is obviously some kind of very
special object which glows when it is exchanged.

Dear Jean:
Novelty - I love that idea that came out of your DaFuMu (and delighted and
amazed that my bouncing ball dream stayed in your consciousness - and then
that Curt has bouncing balls too!!!!).
Dear Jean - please explain to me again - your thought about time and novelty -
I don't quite get it??
I see that your idea of novelty is very like Olivia's definition of Spin from
physics.
Something lovely if afoot!

Comments On Kathy's Dream
Kathy, I am also pasting my DNA dream. (Ilkin)

DREAMS AND DNA
"I am in the garden. The doors to garden are all open. All the flowers and
trees in the garden are full blossomed. (even the out of season ones). My dog
is running around. I am with some people in the back side of the garden where
the entrance to the house, garage, kitchen and main doors are. It is a sunny
day. I am trying to shade my eyes from the sun, with my hand time to time,
when speaking with the people. We are working on the grass. There are papers,
pencils, kind of machine parts in front of us. We are working on a "dream
translation machine". But our work is hard, we should think very carefully
because the machine should translate not only the humans but also the animal's
and plant's dreams. We are discussing that; it should be a dream translating
machine not between languages but to an "universal language". A universal
language which all the peoples from different national languages, all kinds of
animals and all kinds of plants may understand. We are also discussing how we
will keep the translated dreams, in CD's etc? We are thinking that it is
important because; when a human, animal or plant will born again in another
time or place, with another language, the dreams he/she/ it had in the
previous life must be registered in his/ her/ it's mind. We are discussing and
discussing, "if we can collect every being’s dreams translated to an universal
language in a single CD or not", "how we can download those CD's when he/ she/
it will born again", "how many millions of millions CD's we may need", "where
can we keep them all" etc. Than I said; "Isn't the life itself is a big dream?
Are not the every single dream and day life events are one of the millions of
songs in that big dream of life CD?". This time we begin to discuss in a more
philosophical way; "how could God do it?", "can he have a place so large to
store them all?" , "we should think as 'if we are God what would we do?"
etc.... All during these discussions and work; the trees and flowers in the
garden are blossoming and opening again and again, somebody was carrying my
dog's things to the shade, the dog was running with joy and playing with his
colorful toys etc. At the end of the discussion; we decide that, "we are not
God but we have brains to use and we created the technology to this point , so
we can go on to further!". I was thinking; "If I am the God and created the
world and I hide everything in DNA's, why not storing the dreams in them too",
but I was somehow hesitating to tell it to others. I was afraid that they will
laugh at me, putting myself in the shoes of God when I was saying I don't
believe him all those time. But I was also sure that it must be the only way;
store the big dream of life and the millions of songs in that big dream in
DNA's. Than I get my courage and said that the machine we are working on is
DNA and the life is endless, from one big dream to another with uncountable
songs."
I don't know why but I woke up remembering EdK and Richard Wilkerson.
