Dream Answer Animals (DAAs)
Dream Answer Plants (DAPs)

How it all began......What is a DAA or a DAP?

Beginnings of DAA's - June 15, 2003

Juhani:  OK Kathy, I'll dream something for Middle East!

The conflict is growing to be a hormone-based scream-show.  I'll try to dream an Dream Answer Animal (DAA), a SYMBOL.  An animal lives here and now. If there is a free path to a better life: It surely will take it without saying... but... yes but... first... then... after... maybe if...

Wishing that a Dream Answer Animal pops up near a path, road or bridge. Then I'll ask you what it could symbolize. DAA's speciality to manage life situations could boost road map.

By the way: I love that word "road map" -pragmatic Juhani :) Does anyone know who invented it? Literally?

Next step could be a Reservoir meeting - to get the DAA there... somehow. The rest will be history.  Ahaa...one spontaneus peace roamer made it. Next can
follow the path...  Just an idea. I'll try it.  Anyone dreams an animal... just let me (us) know.    Peace,  Juhani

The Dream Answer Animals

Quoll - Dream Answer Animal

Quoll

Kathy:  Juhani and all - I got my DAA last night (I had to try for a few nights). The animal in my dream was a strange mixture. In the dream I thought of it as a cat, a sort of bird, a rat. I was very fond of it but it had started to bite me on my finger. I thought: I may have to smack it to teach it not to bite ("the hand that feeds it" - comes immediately to my mind as an addition now). When I drew the animal this morning, my first thought was "rat" but then - "quoll". It was very definitely a quoll (see web page below) although it was not spotted (it may even have had the most subtle stripes in its fur). A quoll (aboriginal word for it - a "tiger cat" - already a bit of a mixture) is a cat size marsupial (another odd mixture) - all quolls are threatened for existence as bushland is cleared and domestic animals introduced and not many exist in mainland Australia - more in Tasmania (part of Australia - but an island). It's a carnivore with very sharp teeth (as I felt last night!). And Victoria - wait for it!! The quoll gives birth to lots of young (18 - 30) but most die within two days as it only has six teats inside its pouch (I think your guinea pig was in my mind last night). The mother can carry the young as they grow on her back (like a possum). I've really enjoyed searching for the DAA Juhani - I'll put the words I associate with it in your data base.     --  Kathy

Ilkin:  In fact I heard DAA first time from Juhani and I don't know very much about it. Juhani maybe you can tell us more about this. Is this have a relation with Shamanism? In Turkish myths animals have important places in dreams and leading people through dreams. Turks original religion was Shamanism before they accepted Islam.

Kathy: Ilkin, I thought you might like this look at animals as teachers (a shamanism site) that Nick sent to me some time ago.

Dog - Dream Answer Animal

Golden RetrieverFrom Ilkin:

Dear Juhani;

Last night in my dream I didn't see any animal but I made an interesting conversation with the 19 year old peasant girl who worked in my house last year. She is from a little mountain village at the North East of Turkey. Although my dog is a very good natured one her relatives were never entering my home before we put the dog in a room. In my dream;

"We are sitting on wooden logs by a forest and a little river which I think is near her village. She is telling me that I am thinking wrong about dogs.  She says; my dog is a good natured one, used to help people (he throws himself to the pool if any children enters etc. He is a Golden Retriever), not attack any one but only howl if any stranger tries to enter the garden to warn me. I am nodding and saying that, it must be how they are, "a friend". I am saying that I love him nearly as a child now and he is always following me with great loyalty. I am saying I am not sure if he can survive if anything happens, he lost us and became a street dog. She answers me; "That is right but because you want a friend, you are accepting him as a friend. But ours is different. Our dogs are for saving our herds from wolfs, our dogs are for protecting us from wolfs and foxes and bears at the hard winter times. Our dogs are thought to attack and bite. Yours are for friendship and love but ours are for protection and fight".

This is all I remember, maybe you can understand better than me.

Love- Ilkin

Comments about Ilkin's Dream from Peace Bridge Members

From Juhani:

Hi Ilkin,  only the dreamer knows :)  If this were my dream... hmm... I think dogs had their place in the dream whether or not they were there -"dreamphysically".  Word dog is a symbol of dog.

I would like to add some points to Kathy's comments. Forest and wooden logs could be a Reservoir. Power to discuss freely around different aspects of life when a correct platform is there.  Most dogs doesn't kill, just protect.  I think that a playing dog feels better than aggressive one. Training makes a difference.

River -current- stream indicate dynamics.
Mix of rural energy and city culture... why not.
Something mixed power is going on. The Real Time
news are positive so far.  Just some thoughts from Juhani.

From Kathy:  Ilkin, I heard the dog's breed literally: a "golden" retriever - what a beautiful title. So you have two dogs: one for friendship and one for protection. Another mixture!! BOTH are necessary in different contexts. Is this like the Middle East? There (we are the same - but luckily our contexts do not lead our mistakes into such constant life terror) people have forgotten how to use BOTH friendship and protection.  Juhani - your DAA is a beautifully fruitful way of moving into creative heartfelt thinking about the Middle East - and because the animals come from us - it makes us less likely to impose cold heavy thoughts on the Middle East: rather it shows us how we are like those there - we understand to the extent that we too share the same problems. Then our  thoughts are lighter and softer and stronger!

From Regina

People were at a large house for some type of gathering. Some rode in on elephants. The elephants wore leather harnesses. When the harnesses were removed, the elephants laid down on the floor and rolled onto their sides or backs, relaxing. One woman was trying to avoid a man, who may have been the host. She rode in with 5 other people in a pyramid formation -- one person to each side of her, then two people balanced on their 3 sets of shoulders, then one person balanced on top of the two people's shoulders. The lower three were riding either small animals (like little donkeys) or bicycles. The man went right to the woman anyway. Later, the same man was in the driveway outside the large house, perhaps getting into a car with another man, when a young man on the roof of the house shot him with an arrow and he died. Some parts of the large house were not divided into regular rooms, but had only side walls that diminished in height the farther they got from the exterior wall. These interior walls were made of rocks that had been painted white or white-washed, and they were in poor repair and crumbling. There was a lack of water in the house. There was a sink with a flat rectangular plastic water bottle above it, and a dispenser that gave dry gritty hand soap. The water bottle was almost empty, only a very small amount remained in the bottom. Then I was driving somewhere in my car, but I was heading in the wrong direction. I wanted to turn around. Then I was on foot, following a red brick path that was divided from a similar path by a raised area, possibly with flowers planted there. I felt that if I could get to the path on the other side of the raised area, I'd be able to go the way I wanted to go. Finally, I came to an area where it was possible to cross over to the other side. When I got there, I found that people were going both ways on that path. Many seemed to be coming from the airport and carrying suitcases. One woman's suitcase fell and came open and clothes fell out. She was trying to gather them together. Other people were having trouble carrying their baggage also. I had a conversation with a woman about Tibetan Buddhism. We seemed to be back at the original house. I was saying that I had a friend who studied Buddhism. I didn't want to mention that I'd also taken a class, because I had forgotten what I learned. There was an open suitcase with a stack of printed pages on paper with ring-binder holes punched along one side that may have been notes about Tibetan Buddhism.

Lion/Tiger - Dream Answer Animal

Lion Headed TigerFrom Victoria:

I awoke at 1 am or so with the image of a lion with a tiger's face on a cupboard or wardrobe, about to jump down.  I had the feeling that it was a protector rather than a predator.  Mermaid 30 June 2003

Nick: With regards to your lion dream, I was reminded at least in part of the article 'Dreaming Our Way to the Heart of the World'  At Robert Moss' site:
http://mossdreams.com/

It's a link on the front page I think...     Check it out.. :)    Nick

Juahani: Maybe I launch the next DAA period around this:

BACKGROUND
There is one worrying tendency in two politically important countries: Italy and Russia.  They have one strong leader and growing TV monopoly.

POWER
Staying in power becomes more important than peace.  Okay for a short time but never in the long run.

TERRITORY
Energy goes to protecting one's territory.  Stupid small things can create crisis.

ONE COUNTRY 2 LEADERS AND 2 TV STATIONS, MINIMUM:
DAA project could be used to break this media concentration in some way. Animals are not perfect in the territory business. In fact they are experts :)

What to do if DAA pops up after incubating Media Monopoly DAA project after Middle East?  I don't know! Maybe territory thinking in the animal world is essential.  Therefore I don't suggest it now... must think... Juhani

P.S.  Kathy, your plants & Noah wonderings were very creative beginnings to something...!  Must think about that, too :)

Python

Apollo and Python. 1811. Oil on Canvas. Tate Gallery, London.
Apollo and Python

Recent Developments of a 'python' lurking around the DAA Database  located in our Yahoo Member Groups area spurred the following conversations:

Juhani: Victoria, Let's spin ancient stories further :)  Maybe our Python is Digital Asclepius himself, who is visiting us, shortly.

It seems that Apollo's policy fixed him into the sky. Want a peek? -Here is a link:

For those who don't know who Asclepius was:

Just a remainder, this Python story spinn off is not a dream based meandering. It's a real, tiny, Python programming language error on the Yahoogroups Database.

Amateur-astrologically,  Juhani

Le meurtre de Python (Fresque de la maison des Vettii à Pompéi).

Victoria: Here are some creation and other myths with pythons in them.    http://www.africaszawadi.com/2%20Kids/myths_main.html

Python, in Greek mythology in Greek mythology, a huge serpent. In some myths the infant Apollo slew Python at the oracle of Gaea in Delphi; in others Apollo killed the serpent in order to claim the oracle for himself. The Pythian  games celebrated the victory of Apollo over Python.    http://www.reptileallsorts.com/snake-legends.htm

Jean:  wrote:  I think that a living Python has "digi-animal" rights  to live in our Database as long it likes to stay.  Let's adopt it and keep as a Guest Star.

Juhani:  My writings are crazy and most of these people knows that.

Jean:  Dear Juhani, I'm sure that what you meant to say was, "My writings are creative, inventive, brilliant and full of fun," right? (at least that's what this person knows.)  Maybe you could mail to Yahoo about this. They have this group's programming rights.

Horse - dream answer animal

HorseFrom Valley

Dear Dreamers,

I just wanted to offer my dream animals for this week's DaFuMu,

First I dreamt of a black horse named Salaam, and then another Horse showed up a beautiful White one named Salaam.

I looked at both of them confused wondering how they could both be named Salaam, but they were both beautiful and both created for peace.

I thought they might be here to assist us on our dream journeys so I am offering rides on my dream horses if any one wants one.

These two horses have both been wonderful dreaming power animals over the past years, they come ever so often but never have they shown themselves together at the same time. I have never know the name of them either.
The White one is a Stallion and the black one is a Mare.
Salaam, Arabian Horses

Joy:  A horse was in my dreams last night, but the important part was the harness. It was an ancient leather harness that had been found and was now on display. A bas-relief sculpture of a horse, showing how the harness would have been elaborately attached together and put on the horse, was part of the display. The attachment points were especially important - they looked like round white patches. I felt the leather and found that it was still very supple, in amazingly good condition for being so ancient. I was told that it was very important for a curator to care for this item properly.

In light of the tarot reading I just did for Ilkin - and the fact that I suggested to myself before sleeping that I could pre-dream some aspect of the reading - I think this may refer to the importance of preserving and applying old traditions [the harness = the Heirophant] in order to move powerfully and rapidly toward achieving a goal [the Chariot]. I just remembered, night before last I also dreamed about a horse, but it was a little horse that used to be mine in real life when I was young. She was small for a horse but bigger than a pony, and her brown coat grew thick and soft in the winter, like the fur of a stuffed animal. There she was in my dream, little and cuddly, first in the yard and then inside my childhood home, and I was surprised to find out that it was okay for her to be inside the house!

Dream Answer Plants (DAPs)

From Kathy:  Juhani - I think it would be good to take the DAA further BUT HOW?  I would like all DAAs to continue to exist because their beauty, for me, is that they speak strongly and creatively and softly, to their dream partner as well as to the Middle East.  Perhaps we could gather them in a boat (like Noah!!) and sail them through the night to the reservoir where they could graze, drink and be there for all to see or call on.  It seems we are really building this reservoir into a wonderful place.  What if we wait for jean and others to return from the conference?

And a further thought for down the track: we could dream up some plants for the reservoir - also with the thought of peace in mind.  ie DAPs!  We'd have to think of a particular target (but plenty of opportunities there!).
Kathy

Sage - dream answer plant

From Nick:  Wow Dreamers!  Juhani.. I love the idea of the DAA project.. I think it's great fun.. And I especially love the way you draw the links between the qualities of  different animals and political situations..

Good luck with this database :)

Wait. I had a dream about it last night. I was reading through a whole  series of pages.. I mean a whole stack.. Reading about all kinds of  different animals. And guess what the last one was about.

It was sage. Salvia. A psychoactive plant. Don't ask me why this was on the  list, but it was defined as being a helper plant (which it actually it is).   So I definitely think the database should involve plants and animals if  possible.   Nick

Comments to Nick

Kathy:  We are definitely creating our own dream world up north around the reservoir. I'm glad sage is there Nick- didn't know it was psychoactive.  May (I think of this and you, seeing we are on a double theme of making connections to aboriginal dreaming and of dreaming up "old" members!!) - your reservoir is definitely growing - a song (sung by Kev Carmody, an aborigine) about the first strike by aboriginal people in the 1960's and how that led to the land rights movement and in turn led to the granting of land rights to many aboriginal groups has a title I feel applies to the reservoir: "From little things big things grow"

Artichokes - dream answer plant

ArtichokeFrom Jody

"...And Jean, emphasizing the "globe" part of globe artichokes. I have reflected more on that particular flower/fruit and its presentation on the communal table in my dream, Hands Around the Table. The circular trays of  radiatory global flowers, whose name is art-i-choke is important I think.  The more I reflect on this image the more it seems to be about circles of radiant flowering food, expressing unity by the oneness motif and many by the multiple round platters of this dish. The art and choke part are interesting too: one only eats the very base of the leaves of artichokes and  then finally gets to the heart of the flower which is the most succulent and prized part of this food. So we are eating the heart-of-the-flower unity food in this dream. One never eats the "choke" part, the hairy prickly part  just above the "heart." This reminds me of the need for care in our words and methods, those words/actions that might impede or choke our best art.  We need a cleaning of the heart area before communion-eating. "

Kathy's Response

"The Globe Artichokes also remind me of lotus blooms and the whole plate of them radiating out reminds me of the Thousand Petal Lotus. And how wonderful of your dreaming mind to find a plant that is a food and a flower;  and also the holder of such meaning: the prickles and the tender heart.   LIFE.   I think the artichoke is DEFINITELY a Dream Answer Plant (Johanni had us seeking for Dream Answer Animals) and the concept was extended to Plants.

Dreaming with the Animal Ancestors 9-26-04

This dream was primordial, it was portraying the conflict between the structure of society that is rigid and conformist, violent and ruling. The military industrial complex comes to mind, outside the Building, there is a forrest and in the forrest there lives animal people. the animal people are defending the earth against the consuming culture of the military industrial complex. (M.I.C.) The Forrest is on fire, and the MIC is attacking the forrest with fire. There are cheetah people who are in the forrest, they are part fire too. They are directing the flame back to its source to keep the fire in control so that it doesn't consume the forrest. I am standing outside watching what is going on, and there is a Ape Man who is the leader of this tribe of animal people, he is talking to me about what is happening on the earth right now, and what I must do. His voice speaks to me in a sustained echo from another time. He is holding my hand as he talks to me, and I feel very connected to him and these animal people. I Kiss his hand with tenderness and respect, but he seems taken back by my obvious show of affection toward him. I feel deep appreciation for what he is doing to keep the planet safe and in balance. I am watching the cheetah people keep the line of defense with the forrest fire, and I see one woman in particular who steps out front into the darkness and she is shooting the fire back to its source. She is a warrior cheetah woman full of courage and willing to risk herself for the cause. I become aware that this cheetah woman is me, and I see and hear an ancient ape grandmother who is not embodied, she is hovering somewhere, everywhere at once, she says that the cheetah woman needs to pull back, that she is pregnant and that she cannot be sacrificed. The life she carries within her needs to be brought forth and cared for. She carries the future within her.

This dream was very deep and meaningful to me, but practical as well. I feel it is showing me that I have been on the front lines in peace work and I am getting burnt out and putting myself at risk. There is something new growing within me right now that is much more important than what I have sacrificed for the cause of peace. now it is time to pull back & gestate, and nurture, and let time take its course.
Lay down the warrior in me, which is not so easy to do for me given the state of affairs i see in the world today. I need to shift from the peaceful warrior to the creator and nurturor. I want to listen to the guidance of the Grandmother ape, and the Ancestoral Apeman.
